Camouflage Modeling Activity
Details
Resource Description
A quick hands-on camouflage modeling activity that gets students up and out of the classroom. Students will discover the reasons that camouflage is important for animals by using different colored toothpicks and collecting data on which color is easier to find in the grass. Small colored blocks such as LEGO can also be used. I use this as an “Explore” activity in my 5E lesson cycle. Easily incorporate math into this activity by having students graph their results. Supports NGSS 3 LS4-2 and TEKS SCI.3.10.A
Includes:
• Teacher lesson instructions
• Student data collection sheet
• Student lab question sheet
